We are delighted to let you know that Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland has been awarded €39,500 from the RTE Toy Show Appeal grants for 2023 by Community Foundation Ireland.

In 2022, the generous support of the Late Late Toy Show viewers raised over €3.8m, bringing the total raised to over €17m since its inception in 2020.

Following a successful first year, this grant will continue to help fund our Family Support Programme and help to change children’s lives for good across Ireland.

The Family Support Programme will be a further 12 month project resulting in the placement of 25 dogs with 25 families across Ireland, ensuring a successful partnership
is developed between the assistance dog and the families involved. Following successful placement of the assistance dogs, the programme will provide a follow-up service to assist and support the families in a number of key areas.

Encompassing the opening of our assistance dog application process, assessments, matching, workshop training, aftercare visits and peer-to-peer support, this bespoke programme will continue to take a holistic approach to client aftercare, and will make sure that each child & family reaps the maximum increase in wellbeing and quality of life from the provision of an assistance dog.
