We are dedicated to increasing autism awareness and acceptance in Ireland. It is important to us to dedicate time, when we can, to visit schools, businesses and community groups to raise awareness of autism and our organisation.
Autism Awareness Workshop
Our Autism Awareness Workshop is designed for Adults but it can be adapted for secondary school students as well. It is best delivered to a room of 8 to 16 individuals but again we can adapt it to suit a larger group. The full workshop is 3 hours long (including a scheduled break halfway through). The condensed/mini workshop lasts approximately 1 hour. It aims to offer participants a well rounded overview of Autism Spectrum Disorder and its symptoms.

School talks and visits
A visit from one of our 4 legged heroes is always a great hit in the classroom. It is also an excellent opportunity to educate students of all ages on autism and service dogs. We always do our best to tailor our visit accordingly depending on age range and numbers. Our ambassadors can talk about autism assistance dogs, what they do and how they are trained. They can talk about what is autism and how it might affect some people. They can also talk about service dog etiquette i.e. why you shouldn’t distract a working dog. They will also do their best to answer any questions your students curious minds might have (this is always the interesting part!).
