This Saturday, 7th August, Lily May will be pulling on an Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland jersey as part of Gaelic 4 Good, a charity Gaelic football event bringing together creators and online personalities from across Ireland to raise awareness and funds for causes close to their hearts.
For Lily, that cause is deeply personal.
Her best friend Marley’s son, Bear, is partnered with Mango, one of our autism assistance dogs.
Before Mango came into their lives, everyday outings could be overwhelming. Bear relied on a buggy whenever the family left the house, and simple trips often came with uncertainty and worry.
Today, things look very different.
With Mango by his side, Bear has the confidence to explore the world around him. Mango provides safety, reassurance and calm, giving Bear greater independence while giving his parents, Marley and Chris, peace of mind knowing he has his trusted companion wherever he goes.
As Lily shared:
These dogs are so much more than cute faces. They provide support, comfort, companionship and independence to children and families across Ireland.
Stories like Bear and Mango’s remind us why these partnerships matter. Every autism assistance dog represents years of careful breeding, training and support, all made possible through the generosity of people who believe every child deserves to feel safe, confident and included.
What is Gaelic 4 Good?
Gaelic 4 Good brings together more than 80 creators, influencers and supporters from across Ireland for a charity Gaelic football match where every player represents a cause that means something to them personally.
Every ticket sold and every donation helps support the charities represented by the players, with funds going directly to those organisations.
The event has already attracted coverage from Red FM, Dublin South FM and SportBible/LADbible, helping shine a spotlight on dozens of charities making a difference across Ireland.
