After a busy school year, our School Support Dogs deserve a summer break too. So, what do they get up to when the classrooms are quiet?
For Bali, Community Support Dog at Douglas Street Campus, ETB in Cork, this summer was a little quieter than the last. In 2025, Bali travelled to all 26 counties in Ireland for an AADI fundraiser!
This year involved early morning walks to beat the heat, relaxing at home and a few adventures along the way. Bali met his puppy double at the Cork Summer Show, enjoyed a beach holiday with Doogal, joined puppy Beira for a cruise in Killaloe and caught up with his friend Quest. He also celebrated his third birthday in July.
Forest, School Support Dog at St. Fin Barre’s National School in Cork, had a summer built around one of his favourite things: swimming! He kept cool with early morning walks and plenty of trips to the water, while also finding time for play dates with his sister Biscuit and lots of cuddles with the one-year-old twins at home.
Now, after walks, swims, adventures and some well-earned downtime, Bali and Forest are getting ready to return to their schools for another year.
We have a feeling there will be a few very happy faces when they walk through those school doors again.
