Lidl Sponsor a puppy through his training

26 Mar 2019

To support their Autism Aware Quiet Evenings Lidl are proud to be working with Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland to sponsor an assistance dog through its training!

This puppy, once he has completed approximately 18 months of training will provide a child with autism and their family with crucial help and support in their everyday life.

Following the recent commencement of the sponsorship with Lidl we carefully selected Yogi (named by Lidl staff), a black labrador. Yogi entered our training program when he was 8 weeks old. He will be socialised and given a good foundation of training by his volunteer foster family over the next 12 month with the support of our Puppy Training Supervisor, Eadaoin. It is hoped that Yogi will then be able to progress onto advanced, intensive training and ultimately be matched with a family on our waiting list and graduate as a life changing autism assistance dog.

You may notice from the photo he has a 'sponsored by Lidl' logo on his training jacket. So if you ever spot him out and about you now know he is a special puppy who is kindly being supported through his training by Lidl.
