We're delighted to let you know that we will be opening the doors of our HQ in Little Island to the public next Wednesday 18th May, from 11 am to 2pm.
We are still in urgent need of puppy fosterers in the Munster region and all are welcome to come and hear about everything that’s involved in puppy fostering, meet some of our superheroes in training, and chat to current puppy fostering volunteers over a coffee. We would also love other current volunteers to come along and enjoy the opportunity catch up in-person!
One of AADI’s instructors will be present with an assistance dog in training, so members of the public can learn about the important role these four-legged superheroes will play in a child’s life once matched. Jessie, AADI’s puppy supervisor for Munster will also be on hand to explain a puppy's journey to becoming a life-changing autism assistance dog, the vital role that our puppy fostering volunteers play in the process, and answer any questions along the way.
Meet Michelle and hear about her experience of fostering Norris:
“Together with my family we have been fostering puppies for Autism Assistance Dogs for the last five and a half years. We have always loved fostering the puppies and watching them progress through the training, guiding them along the way. To see a dog we fostered with his/her child and family just fills us with pride and love for these incredible superheroes. It drives you on as a fosterer to try and help get more incredible dogs out to children waiting for their superheroes. We as a family love being fosterers for AADI as we see first hand the difference the dogs make to a child’s life and that of their family.”
