A Quarter Achieved!
As of today Roy and I have walked 20km !I'm thrilled to have reached the quarter mark. His furry majesty is loving the longer walks and very excited to go out with buddies and view the local forests.
Big thanks to our friends who are walking with us and the support from home and abroad. We love you guys!
Walk to the power of Roy
Blogging is new but here goes!Walking is good but even better with a friend. My friend in this case is a 12 year old staffie called Roy.
Roy has seemingly boundless energy and enthusiasm which often helps to get me motivated (I'm not going to lie coffee also plays a part!)
Roy has only been with us for 5 weeks. He was left at the pound and sadly was there for 5 months before Dog Rescue Coolronan were able to get him out.
We lost our wonderful staffie cross, Benjie, in September and nothing was the same without him. My husband is on the spectrum and while Benjie had no special training he just seemed to know when my husband needed him.
When I spotted Roy on Coolronan's Facebook page I thought we might be able to help each other out. And we have! He adores my husband and vica versa. Staffies are an incredibly empathetic breed and thrive in human company.
Despite his age , our boy loves Big walks so he has been roped in to help me with our challenge.
Here's to neurodiversity, to opening minds, to proper supports and to dogs!

Thank you for supporting me on my 80K in January Challenge. I am delighted to be taking part in this fundraiser and help raise vital funds for the training of life transforming Autism Assistance Dogs. With your donation, we can continue to transform the lives of children with autism.
It costs €25,000 and takes 2 years to train and place an Assistance Dog. They do not charge families for these life transforming dogs. The charity is entirely supported by fundraising and donations. Please donate what you can and support me and this wonderful charity.
